shih tzu breeding and whelping

My shih tzu, chilly is pregnant for 1,5 month

SHIH TZU BREEDING

this is my first experiences to see my dog's pregnancy and then whelping :D

she's turn so sleepy everyday.. she didn't want to eat anything.. 

give she vitamins for the babies..

so I gave her any food: meat, liver, boiled egg, cheese, milk.. 

anything, just only she can eat a little food everyday..

after +/- 62 days.. on 19 July 2012, she's whelping! XD

I was still sleeping that day.. 

at 6 o'clock, my aunty wake me up and screaming : " chilllyyyyy whelpingg!!!"

SHOCKED and without knowing anything, i was hurry and help her.

1. Tore the placenta then she will eat it
2. then she lick and clean her puppies.
3. don't forget to clean the liquid on their mouth and nose, use this, to clean the liquid..

squeeze the blower, so there is no air in it then pull the liquid out from their nose..

DON'T let the air in the blower pressure into the nose !

this is must be done quickly to give the babies fresh air. 

if the babies crying, then it done.. :)

1. clean them with clean and dry towel :)
2. give them 1 teaspoon of honey to strengthen them
3. then give them to their mom, so they can get milk.
4. keep them warm..

then we waiting for the next babies :D

we'll know that she's still have babies if her belly is still hard, like there's babies in the 'bubble' in her belly.

wait and help her whelping again :) 

• give the mom raw egg yolk and honey to strengthen her after whelping 1 baby.

then after all done.. (usually 6-7 hour of whelping)

• the mom will start want to eat
• give her meat, liver, milk, water :)

she's happy become a new mother :D

SHIH TZU AND PUPPIES

keep them clean, warm

don't bath them!

just clean with warmed towel

because the dog's temperature will be so high

• keep them in a big box, give a bulb to warm them, 25watt bulb..

keep the box always clean, give a towel to warm them..

give the mom healthy 'dogfood for breeding dogs'

give vitamins and calcium

MAKE SURE THE PUPPIES GET THE MILK

COZ, if one of them not get good milk, they won't grow well and stay little

don't give chocolate (its toxic for dogs!), salt, and sweets food
